March 16, 1952 - August 15, 2021

Born in Marshall, Texas to James Edward and Hazel Ruth Downer Buchheit, Boo truly believed in the Lord and never missed an opportunity to share the Gospel whenever he could. He made certain that every project he was involved with honored God: as a Boy Scout leader, working with the Ministerial Alliance and Gideons International, and serving as an Elder at Sit’em Down Cowboy Church. For many years, Boo and his precious Marsha were coordinators of the Agape House Angel Tree and they always included Bibles in every Christmas gift bag for the kids. When he was named Big Sandy’s ‘Man of the Year’ in 2011, he humbly accepted but gave all Glory to God for any of his accomplishments. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Boo is survived by the love of his life for 30 years, Marsha. Six sons and their wives: Michael Shane Buchheit and Ginny, Plano, TX; Matthew Edward Buchheit and Angel, West Mountain, TX; Edward Shane Craft and Lori, Bullard, TX; Nathan Willis Craft and Mary, Portage, MI; John Earl Craft and Jennifer, Big Sandy TX; and Jason Curtis Craft, Big Sandy, TX; one daughter, Clarice Ann Craft Bledsoe, Longview, TX; two brothers: Jerry Buchheit, Tyler, TX and Lyle Mackey and wife Donita, Lutheran, OK; one sister and husband JoAnn Scheurer and Jim, Ringwood, OK; fourteen grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Boo was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jack Buchheit and Roger Mackey, and one niece. Boo’s service was held this past Friday at Sit’em Down Cowboy Church in Big Sandy with burial at Chilton Cemetery. Pastor Chad Lee of Sit’em Down and Pastor Preston Dozier spoke not only of Boo’s love of the Lord, but his desire to lead others to salvation. Music was offered by Mike Timmons, Kevin Hallman, and Thomas Clemens. Pallbearers were Michael Shane Buchheit, Matthew Edward Buchheit, John Earl Craft, Jason Curtis Craft, Edward Shane Craft, and Nathan Willis Craft. Boo was devoted to his family, church, friends, and community and his passing has left a hole in our hearts that only the love of Jesus Christ, our Risen Lord and Savior can heal. Amen.Jabez “Boo” Edward Buchheit
